For 7 matches of the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup, I drove 2 hours from New Jersey to Long Island, NY to cover one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The Beauty of Ovals captures the surprisingly wide atmosphere of Eisenhower Park and the dedicated fans who traveled across the world to sit just metres away from the most followed revered athletes on the planet.

For my s. veloski takes a brief meditation, we wanted to push ourselves in the pursuit for the bold story that needs to be told. Tired of short films that said too much (yet too little,) Shane and I wanted to start at square one, using whatever we had on hand. Luckily, right outside the chilly doorstep was the city of Chicago, and we couldn’t ask for a better canvas to translate the solemnly strange (yet remarkable) experience of simply sitting with oneself and doing nothing. 8 min. and 18 sec.
